Nissan Marine began their N. American operations in 1984 in Memphis, Tennessee as a division of Nissan Industrial Equipment Co. Over the next 6 years, the Marine Division experienced explosive growth and in 1991 Nissan Marine was separated from Nissan Industrial Equipment into a standalone company. Nissan Marine and moved their headquarters to their present location in the Dallas, Texas area.

The first exhibition and sale of a Nissan Outboard was at the 1985 Bass Master’s Classic in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. At that time Nissan Marine only offered models from a 2.5 hp through a 70 hp. Not long after that Nissan Marine developed an oil injected 90 hp. Shortly thereafter, Nissan Marine introduced the 120 hp and 140 hp. Since 1984 Nissan Marine has continually improved their model selection, offering oil injected models from a 40 hp through the 140 hp.

Nissan Marine & Power Products presently sells and services Nissan outboards through its dealer network throughout the U.S.A. and Canada.

To meet the demands of today’s boaters, Nissan Marine has begun introducing their low emission, fuel-efficient four-stroke outboards. In their quest to continually provide products using the latest technology, Nissan Marine has introduced a new line of fuel injected, low emission outboards to match the demands of the future marine market.

Nissan outboards, parts and service are available through over 800 marine dealerships throughout North America.

NEW For 2004
Nissan Marine is proud to introduce the new NSF8A & NSF 9.8A 4-stroke engines.
The NSF8A & NSF 9.8A are compact 2-cylinder, SOHC engines that have been
manufactured to comply with US EPA 2006 & CAD 2008 (3-STAR rating) emission regulations.
Our first priority when developing this engine was to make it lightweight and compact
without comprising reliability or the quality performance associated with the Nissan
brand name.  We have maintained the durable standard features that Nissan
owners appreciate while making a fuel-efficient 4-stroke that is easy to transport.

The fast-idle choke system on the carburetor eliminates the need for difficult
choking techniques and enables simplistic starting.

The newly designed recoil starter has a larger starter reel making manual starting
     fast and easy.

A larger splash plate minimizes water splash, especially at higher speeds.

A trim tab on gear case stabilizes steering torque for any running condition while
also helping to protect the engine from electrolysis and corrosion.

It is the lightest weight in its class at a mere 81.5 lbs (37.0 kg)!
